Wetplate on location...

Two weeks ago, after checking the functionality of the darkbox in my garden, I decided to move with it a little bit further. However my first attempt of taking some collodions on location wasn't successful.

As my equipment is quite outstanding, although, in the place where I tried to take some pictures, photography isn't  forbidden, I wasn't allowed to take any, and I was told I need a written permission to do so! (while a person next to me took a dozen of digital photographs)

So I realised that generally it might be not that easy to take collodion photographs of what I want, what actually quite upset me....I was hoping I'll meet with an interest and support rather than unwillingness, well...

Anyway two days ago I've packed everything again and went just a little up the lane, where I'm living. There was plenty of showers and it was quite windy, so the conditions didn't allow me to take the most out of this adventure, but I've got a few :) :

Cyanotype prints

A few weeks ago I promised to post my new prints done with a traditional cyanotype receipt and a security lamp.
Here they are.
Let me know what you think.

Portraits

It started last Friday.
I've invited my new friends who are voluntary workers in Glencree Peace and Reconciliation Centre for sitting portraits.
Volunteers are living and working in the Centre for the whole year. It's a mix of fantastic people from all over the world and each of them has a different reason to be here...
So far I've portrayed Nury from Mexico, Jean from Taiwan and Edgar from Brazil.

Then (when I started to like it:) I've invited my neighbours Pawel and Milan, and then I become even more non prudish and I've caught my other neighbour's mother, when passing by close to my cottage :).
Generally I'm hoping to portray more residents of Glencree (village where I'm living since December '10) in the near future (very interesting place and people).
Apart from these projects, if anybody fancy sitting collodion portrait - feel free to visit me!
Thanks to all of those  mentioned above (including Lubor, who's always around)!

Last few days...

My darkbox is ready to give it a try.
The most tricky was fixing the cloth :)
External dimensions 90x55x30cm.
Big thanks to Lubor for help.
